Well, when you are bored there is no telling where you might look for inspiration. Here I have written a story/poem from the result of a solo game of bananagrams. For the uninitiated, it is like scrabble but without the board and on speed, it’s great (though boring on your own after a few rounds)! Please enjoy this prose with just a slight hint of rose…tinted glasses!
An African Tale
It is trendy to sit under a tree,
in the Rift Valley for a fee.
If you are going to sit on a rug under a tree,
first read the zeal of the bee,
as its hive is stowed in the necks of those trees.
If you are to dice with deaf animals that are wild,
you’ve gone and sold out on the brave but anxious child,
who’s hopes of growth are way too mild.
The child sits atop a pied ox,
who aches to just coil up and drink tasty wines with his other friend the fox.
The vibe he gets from sitting in the sun,
eating tart and drinking wine is fun.
The ache in his jaw is from a tooth that is sore,
which he tries to ignore.
He will have to pay a dentist to fix the bulge in his mouth,
before his beam is toothless.
An old dentist is sought,
quipped the dentist, “that’ll be a feat,
I’ll need a jet to pull out those teeth!”
The child atop the ox, zooms down leaving not a dint on the ground,
his ankle hitting a vase they’d found.
This story is emailed to you as the whole truth, what dogma!
